Scott Taylor is Senior Aquatic Biologist with over 10 years of experience. He holds professional designations in both Alberta (P.Biol) and British Columbia (R.P.Bio), and has worked on projects throughout Western Canada, Ontario and the Northwest Territories. His main areas of practice include Aquatic Biology, Environmental Construction Support, Environmental Impact Assessments, Erosion and Sediment Control, and Regulatory Permitting.
As a Project Manager and Senior Aquatic Biologist with Green Plan, Scott helps clients navigate the applicable regulatory frameworks for working in or around water. Over his career, he has worked alongside clients from the provincial and private sectors at identifying environmental considerations and supporting responsible development. He has a comprehensive working knowledge of the Alberta Codes of Practice, Water Act, and Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, as well as federal legislation including the Fisheries Act, Species at Risk Act, and Canadian Navigable Waters Act. Scott is proficient at completing applications under these pieces of legislation, and is typically responsible for the development of Qualified Aquatic Environmental Specialist (QAES) Reports, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Construction Operations (ECO) Plans, Erosion and Sedimentation Control (ESC) Plans, Care of Water Plans, and Fish Capture and Relocation Plans for Green Plan clients.
Scott’s technical skills include fish sampling, field data collection, statistical data analysis, Geospatial Information System (GIS) analysis, regulatory liaison, technical report writing and environmental construction support services. These skills are applied on projects that require environmental baseline assessments (i.e., fisheries, wetland, benthic invertebrate, zooplankton, phytoplankton, epiphytic algae, and water quality), post-construction monitoring, construction support, and fish rescue operations.
